The Simeka Team consists of a complementary group of entrepreneurs and business professionals with proven track records and long standing experience in establishing, developing and selling successful business.


Robinson is the founder and Executive Chairman of Simeka Group. He also holds the position of Chairperson at Wescoal (JSE listed), Verge Management Services as well as Vusani Properties and sits on the Boards of Adcorp Holdings, Fintech, Europ Assistance and Gobodo Forensic and Investigative Accounting. He is a former Director-General of the Department of Public Service and Administration. 



Cecil is an experienced executive who has filled various management positions at some of the leading organizations in the private and public sectors. Cecil has a strong finance background and has applied his trade at Andersen/Accenture, SAB, Standard Bank and the Gauteng Provincial Government Treasury. He was the Chief Operating Officer of the Gauteng Shared Services Centre, and was instrumental in the conceptualization of this share services center. Cecil also held the positions of General Manager of Group Strategic Planning at Transnet, and was a director at Accenture in the government market unit as well as a Director at Simeka.


Thato Mahlong started his career at Nedbank on the postgraduate training programme. During that time, he worked within Nedbank Corporate Banking, Nedbank Capital Financial Lab and Nedbank Capital Corporate Finance. Upon completing the training programme he subsequently gained extensive experience from various finance roles within the bank, including, the Structured Products division of the Nedbank Capital Equity Capital Markets department as a Transactor responsible for the implementation of structured equity derivative solutions for a variety of corporate clients and high net worth individuals and as a Senior Associate within the Nedbank Capital Corporate Finance team. His investment management experience is comprised of his time at Phatisa Advisors where he was a Deal Principal and at Standard Chartered Bank where he was an Investment Professional within the Africa Private Equity team. He currently serves as the Chief Investment Officer for Simeka Capital Holdings.



Colin founded Gundo Engineering in 2005 and is the Managing Director of Gundo Engineering and Projects. He has worked for various blue chip companies such as Anglo American, Mitall Steel and First National Bank.  



Wiseman as worked in the Corporate Finance Division for Eskom; in the Energy and Mining Division for PriceWaterhouseCoopers and as a Financial Manager on capital projects for the London and NASDAQ Listed RANDGOLD Resources. Most recently he was CEO of Carbon Reduction SA and in 2009 he became the Executive Director of African Regenerated Energy (Pty) Ltd & GHG Reductions (Pty) Ltd, companies established to reduce carbon emissions in Africa and the Middle East.



Glenda White is a public sector specialist who has spent six years in government post 1994, first as the Head of Policy Research for the first Premier of Gauteng Province and then as the Executive Director of the Centre for Public Service Innovation (CPSI), reporting to the Minister for Public Service and Administration. She has consulted to public sector organisations nationally and provincially and has worked with international donors including the British Department for International Development. She is currently a Director of Simeka Capital Pharma, the investment vehicle for the Specpharm acquisition. Glenda is a partner in The Culima Institute, a technology based skills development company focused on capacity building for manufacturing. Glenda serves on the board of Siyandza Skills Development, a training and e-learning development company. She specializes in programme design, business process management, stakeholder engagement and process innovation. Glenda is involved in investment opportunities in healthcare and education.



Itumeleng Phasha is an admitted attorney with over 10 years’ experience. After completing his articles at Mkhabela Huntley Adekeye Inc, he joined Nedbank Business Banking where he advised business units on an array of legal matters including but not limited to corporate and commercial law, property law, specialised finance, banking and general finance. In 2011, he joined the National Empowerment Fund as a legal investment advisor where he was extensively involved in due diligence investigations, structuring of commercial transactions, negotiating and preparation of transaction agreements, restructuring of distressed investments, acquisition finance, corporate finance, SME finance and a host of debt and equity funding across a diverse range of industries. He joined Simeka in 2015 to head up the legal department.



Makhado is a versatile marketer with entrepreneurial flair. He started working for MTN Marketing in 1998. The love for the property industry led him to find a way into it. In 2000 he joined McCreedy Friedlander as a retail consultant and later as a Commercial Property Broker. While at McCreedy Friedlander he derived a strategy to revive retail within Inner City and went on to convince the Pick n’ pay board through an audio-visual presentation. Carlton Centre was the focal point of growth. He worked with Transnet in bringing life to Carlton and Pick ‘n Pay together with other retailers who committed to areas that were mothballed for more than a decade. During this period he worked with Truworths, Clicks organisation, Captain Doregos and many other retailers in different parts of the City such as Braamfontein. In 2004 he joined RMB properties Marketing Division (Eris) as a Commercial Broker. His desire for growth and development of semi-developed areas of South Africa and other parts of the continent led to the establishment of Nesprop in 2008 which focused on brokering. The ambition was to foster development with strong socio economic impact as a means to create long-term employment opportunities.



Cheyeza Mackaukau started her career as an intern at SAB-Miller as a brewing technical operator in 2004, which included process control in the brewing and fermentation departments. She then joined Gundo Engineering & Projects in 2006 where she worked as a production manager, project manager, account manager and environmental manager. She joined Simeka Capital Holdings in 2016 as a project coordinator. Cheyeza has done a few short courses in production management, integrated waste management, and coal courses with the Fossil Fuel Foundations through Wits.



Amanda Modise started her career as a graduate intern in the Enterprise Development division in 2015 at Business Partners Limited which is a financier for SMEs. She joined Simeka Capital Holdings in 2016 as a graduate intern in 2016 to pursue a career in investments under the guidance of the Simeka Capital Holdings executive management team.
